Musician Phu Quang, whose real name is Nguyen Phu Quang, is Hanoi, but he was born in Cam Khe, Phu Tho in 1949 due to his familys exile against the French, and when he was 5 years old, he returned to the liberated capital.
In 1967, at the age of 18, he graduated the Intermediate level of Ken Cor at the Vietnam School of Music, Vietnam National Academy of Music, then he returned to work as a musician at the Vietnam Symphony, Choir, and Ballet Theater. year 1978.
From 1978 to 1982, he continued to major in Symphony Conduct, and when he graduated, he joined the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.
In 1985, Phu Quang decided to go south and work at the Music and Dance Department of the Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City, collaborating with the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Hall. During this time, he was composing songs, soundtracks, music for the stage, making programs, opening Tigon Studio.
At the age of 17, Phu Quang had his first musical composition, he was also the founder and conductor of the sermi classical orchestra called Autumn. However, he was only really famous when Em, Hanoi, and Phan Vus poetry collection was born in 1986.
In the 1990s, Phu Quang made a music night in the middle of Saigon, named Memories of Hanoi. It was the distance that inspired endless emotions for him to spread his heart on the keys with the melancholy melodies of nostalgia and love for Hanoi to the point of "swirling", "heartbreaking". It is not by accident that Phu Quang is known as the musician of Hanoi, because the Hanoi imprints are boldly imprinted in most of his compositions. Hanoi made him anxious. Therefore, in 2008, Phu Quang "returned to the old town" after 23 years living in Saigon.
Nearly 2 years of illness due to complications of diabetes, he had to stay in intensive care at Viet Xo Hospital and could not resist the fate of heaven, he took his last breath on the morning of December 8, 2021, enjoying positive 72. age, the Center for Protection of Music Copyright in Vietnam would like to send its deep condolences to the family of musician Phu Quang.
